On April 13th, 2018, Comprehensive Community Solutions & YouthBuild Rockford had the pleasure of hosting a visit from students in the Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP). It is a program hosted by NIU and funded by a US State Dept grant that brings 60 young people from Southeast Asia to the United States every year so that they can learn about diversity and cultural appreciation, community action and activism, and networking and collaboration within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Upon their return to their home countries, they implement civic improvement projects designed during their visit to the U.S. Approximately thirty participants took a tour of the CCS YouthBuild corporate campus, visited our YouthBuild Rockford construction job sites, and learned about how the YouthBuild program helps students gain essential leadership and employment skills for success.
